Q: Are there any fees associated with a public records request to the Saratoga Springs Police Department?

A: Yes, in accordance with Utah Government Records Access Management Act (Utah Code 63G-2-203). The current fee schedule is as follows:

  • DI9/accident report - $13.00.
  • Photos - $13.00.
  • Copy of police report- Minimum $10.00 + $5.00 *per 15 min. (first 15 min free).
  • No charge to victims of domestic violence.
  • Body/dash cam - $22.00 *per hour.

*Time of labor required to complete request.


Q: How do I pay?

A: If your request requires payment, a notification will be sent via email of the total cost.


Q: When will my request be completed?

A: In accordance with Utah State Statutes (Utah Code 63G-2-204), as soon as reasonably possible, but no later than 10 business days after receiving a request. (5 days if you can show that you must have an expedited response).


Q: Why was my request denied?

A: The requester will receive a detailed reason for denial of records. All denials are in accordance with Utah State Statute (Utah Code 63G-2-205).


Q: Why must I provide my drivers license or valid passport (photo identification)?

A: In accordance with Utah State Statute (Utah Code 63G-2-202(6)), before releasing a private, controlled, or protected record, the governmental entity shall obtain evidence of the requester's identity.
